About Harper and Keele Vet School

Harper & Keele Veterinary School is a joint venture between Harper Adams University (Shropshire) and Keele University (Staffordshire), delivering a five-year BVetMS. Its first cohort began in 2020 and the pioneer cohort graduated in 2025; students study across both partner campuses, which sit about 23 miles apart and are connected by a free shuttle bus.

Teaching is split between the two host campuses, with students typically travelling to the second campus about one day per week (lectures can be livestreamed). Years 1 to 3 cover foundation sciences and clinical preparation, year 4 delivers clinical medicine and surgery, and year 5 is dedicated to clinical rotations. The school uses a distributed model of clinical delivery, with workplace-based placements hosted by veterinary practice partners rather than a single university teaching hospital.
