About Edinburgh Vet School
The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies at the University of Edinburgh delivers the five-year BVM&S at its Easter Bush campus. It holds dual RCVS and AVMA accreditation (plus EAEVE), so graduates are eligible to practise across the UK, Europe, North America and Australasia.
The curriculum runs from foundation to clinical study across five years. Years 1 to 2 cover the healthy animal with clinical skills from year 1, alongside 10 weeks of animal-husbandry placements; years 3 to 5 focus on disease, pathology, pharmacology and veterinary public health, with 20 weeks of clinical placements and a final year of core and selected clinical rotations. Students may intercalate after year 2, 3 or 4 for an intercalated BSc (Hons).

Candidates will be asked to arrive at Easter Bush Campus at around 12.30pm and will be finished by 5pm. For international MMIs, the format will be similar apart from a tour of the campus and, rather than current students, there will be alumni of the School available to chat to. The seven MMI stations are: Career Exploration and Awareness of being a Professional; Scientific Data Interpretation; Awareness of Animal Welfare; Moral and Ethical Dilemma; Practical Manual Task; Numeracy (pen/paper only, no calculators or electronic devices permitted). Following interview, 100% of your offer is weighed on interview scoring. |
