About Glasgow Vet School

The University of Glasgow's School of Biodiversity, One Health and Veterinary Medicine delivers the five-year BVMS, based mainly at the 80-hectare Garscube campus a few miles from the main Gilmorehill campus. A Russell Group university, Glasgow's facilities include an award-winning Small Animal Hospital with MRI, CT and radiotherapy, plus equine and production-animal services.

The BVMS uses a spiral curriculum that revisits topics with increasing clinical focus across a Foundation Phase (years 1 to 2), Clinical Phase (years 3 to 4) and a lecture-free Professional Phase (year 5) centred on small-group clinical work. A vertical theme of professional and clinical skills runs throughout, supported by Extra-Mural Studies placements. Students may intercalate after year 2 or 3 for an additional BSc.
